Becky Embree

Becky grew up on a farm outside of Gowrie, Iowa, so it's no surprise that even as a little girl, she had a deep love for dogs and horses. She can remember wanting to have a dog of every breed when she was growing up! She never fulfilled the dream of owning every breed in the world, but she came close– now she has the pleasure of caring for all breeds of dogs while their owners are away. With the help of her husband Wayne and son Alec, Becky is living her childhood dream!

Alec Embree

Wayne and Becky's son Alec has inherited his parents love of dogs. While growing up, Alec can't remember a time that there weren't dogs in the house.... at one time there were 4! When Alec was in his teens, he obedience-trained his Rottweiler, Patunia, as a 4-H project. For 2 years they competed successfully in the show ring. Later, Alec trained an adopted Great Dane and showed her as well. Alec is a US Army veteran who served his country proudly, deployed to Afghanistan in 2010. His favorite part of working at Canine Country Cottage is interacting with the guests.
