Set amongst 200 acres of wide open farm
ground is Canine Country Cottage. The 1900 sq. ft. "cottage"
was built in 2004, and opened its doors March 1st of that year. Heated
and air conditioned throughout, the facility offers a small dog area, large
dog area, inside playroom, and large suites complete with brass beds.
Outside are plenty of play yards, including 2 large grass areas, along with several individual pens, and several large group play areas.
Guests are placed into small play groups, depending on social skills, energy level, size and age.
"While you're away, love for your dog night and day." That's the motto at Canine Country Cottage. Becky Embree, an ABKA member, has created a unique home atmosphere for your dog. Located just north of Mount Vernon, Canine Country Cottage is the result of a creative vision and years of planning. Amidst country surroundings, the new facility offers overnight boarding and full or half-day care. The 1,900 square-foot "cottage" has separate rooms for small and large dogs along with an indoor activity/playroom. Outside, there is plenty of room for long walks and a large play area. Boarders and daycare guests partake in small play groups--depending on personality, size and social skills. Just like daycare for your children, Becky treats your dog the same. Guests are pampered with long walks, snack times, naps, ample bathroom breaks and personal attention. Becky's goal is to keep your dog entertained so they don't have to think about being away from home.
Private walks are also included if the guest is
concerned about being around the others.
